Products

TIKON produces rutile titanium dioxide pigment by the sulphate process. Every grade is surface treated and finished for a defined family of end uses — coatings on one side, plastics on the other.

All grades are titanium dioxide, Pigment White 6, CAS 13463-67-7, Colour Index 77891.

Applications

Where the grades fit

Titanium dioxide is the most efficient white pigment available. It is what makes a coating opaque, a plastic bright and a printed surface readable. In practice it appears in almost every light-coloured formulation.

Coatings

TiKON 33 · TiKON 35

Architectural paints, interior and exterior, in both solvent and water based systems. General industrial and powder coatings. Can coatings. Both grades are formulated for easy wet-in and stable dispersion, with the durability required for exterior exposure.

Plastics and masterbatch

TiKON 36

General purpose masterbatch, polyolefins, ABS and styrenics, rigid interior PVC, flexible PVC and plastisols. The hydrophobic surface treatment and bluish tint tone are chosen for clean whites and stable processing at extrusion temperatures.

Inks, rubber and plastisols

All grades

TiKON 33 is suitable for printing inks where gloss is not the primary requirement. All three grades are suitable for evaluation in rubber applications.
